Being a fashionista is all about wearing the latest trends
and attending the most glamorous fashion events, promoting a “look at me, I’m
sexy, smart and self confident” attitude – because a fashionista knows that
people admire her and she loves to be in the center on attention. She will always have a willingness to pay
higher than she can afford and do everything needed to get THE item she longs
for, then promising herself it will be the last one…until the next item she
feels she can’t live without.
Do you remember Carrie saying “I like my money where I can see it –
hanging in my closet”? How many of us think like this?
And how many of us feel like this in a closet full of clothes?
But being a fashionista is not all about clothes, bags,
shoes and jewelry. She becomes a brand and as any other brand she needs to be
unique and connected to the latest technologies. Also, she will always be
willing to pay more for fashion statement items and will proudly wear them.
Fashion designers and tech companies have realized the potential and have used their
imagination to create products any fashion lover would long for. The result? From dresses that can display Tweets, to a “hug shirt” that connects over Bluetooth to let you senda hug to someone wearing the shirt far away, and a programmable t-shirt with a 1,024
pixel display, built in camera, microphone and speakers, allowing people to
show status updates, songs and photos. The collection was expanded this year
with a series of fine silk skirts and jackets that contain intelligent LED
fabrics that change pattern and animate under the control of an app within
seconds.
Envisioning the future, the designers are looking forward
for the day when we will live in a sensor led environment and clothes can
communicate with each other, with stores and events. And as they’ve thought
about everything, washing these clothes will not be a problem either!
